Sunday morning (7/27) on FOX News Channel’s show “FOX & Friends,” ZY surfer/team manager Will Skudin and his brother Cliff taught FOX meteorologist Rick Reichmuth how to surf. The 9-minute segment was shot in Long Beach, NY, at the first-ever Zoo York, New York Surf Camp which runs through the end of August.

Will and Cliff did an awesome job representing Zoo York on-camera, and ZY logos were everywhere throughout the segment. Plus, weatherman Rick even caught a few waves, thanks to Will’s masterful instruction. Big props to Will for making this story happen and spreading the Zoo Surf message!

Congrats again to Chaz Ortiz for taking 3rd place at the AM Getting Paid contest.

With $10K in total prize money up for grabs, dudes weren’t holding anything back as they crushed the street course at Montreal’s South Parc Skatepark. When it was all said and done, Atoine Asselin claimed first place honors and a check for $5K, Ryan Decenzo took second ($2K), and ZY Official Chaz Ortiz rounded out the top three ($1K). After the contest, ProTec’s best trick jam went down with teams of four competing against one another. Chaz Ortiz, who has been on an absolute tear lately, led his team of Ryan Decenzo, Mikael O’Meara and TJ Rogers to a resounding victory.

In between all the shreddin’, several bangin’ parties were held over the three day event weekend at Montreal’s finest drinking holes. As you can imagine, it was all about beats, booze, babes, and broing down with all the homies. Cheers to another memorable year of good times in Canada with the Zoo Crew!

Brandon Westgate killed it at the demo in Terrebone Quebec today.. check it:

Straight up and over that shit.. The kid’s got POP!!

Speaking of Pop, have you seen the new Tranworld “And Now” video yet??

I just got to see it the other night and I don’t even have to tell you how much pop
Matt Miller has… The entire video is sick tho go to your local skateshop and get it when it comes in.

We’ve logged a couple clips for the “State of Mind” video on this trip but the rain
is seriously killing our flow. Stay tuned for more photo/video updates!

The annual Back to the Banks skate jam is set for Saturday, August 16th, at the Brooklyn Banks, of course. Roll out to show your support for NYC’s skateboarding community, and enter the best trick contest for your chance to take home cash and prizes. Back to the Banks is always a massive event, and this year will be no exception. See ya there!

Chaz Ortiz, absolutely crushed it over the weekend at the AST Dew Tour’s Right Guard Open in
Cleveland, OH, broadcast live on NBC. Chaz pulled out all the stops in the Skatepark Final and
gave Paul Rodriguez a serious run for his money. Chaz and P-Rod went trick-for-trick the
entire final, and when it was all said and done, Chaz finished 2nd behind P-Rod who won
by a mere 5-hundredths of a point.

“Everybody was really going for it today and Cleveland saw a really good handful of skaters out here,”
said Rodriguez. “Little Chaz Ortiz, he’s a skate phenomenon. He’s coming on strong and I can’t believe
the things he does. When I was 14 I definitely couldn’t do all that, and I really thought he had me beat
today. He took 3rd last month and 2nd today, and as far as I can see he’s got nowhere to go but up.”

The next stop of the AST Dew Tour is the Wendy’s Invitational from August 21st – 24th in Portland, OR,
and you know Chaz has his sights set on a 1st place finish! Congrats, Chaz, and keep up the good shreddin’!
